Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin that relaxes the tension of the muscle. This injectable is mostly used to treat wrinkles that are caused by the increased muscle contraction. The relaxation of the muscle tension smoothens out the skin and wrinkles will soften up or can be prevented. The effect of the botulinum toxin is totally reversible and will stay for approximately 3 to 5 months.

An upper eyelid surgery is a small procedure used to improve the appearance of the eyes. Due the the excess and flaccidity of the eyelid skin, the eyes can look tired or sleepy. Reasons to do an upper eyelid surgery could be medical (e.g. headache, irritation of the eyes, heavy feeling of the eyelids) or cosmetic. The surgery is done under local aenaesthesia. The precedure consist of removing the excess skin (if necessary excess fat) of the upper eyelids. The downtime is 1 week and the end result can be observed after approximately 6 weeks. The eyes will have a youthful, well rested and fresher look.
